Business Visa USA
Business Visa USA
Unless you qualify for the Visa Waiver Program, if you’re travelling to the United States in order to conduct a temporary business, you’ll need a business visa for USA. This is known as a B1 visa for USA and examples of the types of temporary business that requires this type of visa are visits for the purpose of negotiating contracts or attending business meetings, consultations, conventions, or conferences.
The B2 visa for USA covers those wishing to visit for tourism purposes such as vacation and visiting family, but if your trip is a mixture of business and tourism, you can obtain a combination B-1/B-2 visa.
How to Apply for Business Visa for USA
There are several steps to complete in order to receive your B1 visa for the USA. You’ll need to complete Form DS-160, which is the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, upload your photograph, and print the confirmation page. If you are between the ages of 14-79, you will need to schedule an appointment for a visa interview and take the printed copy of that page with you.
As wait times for your interview will vary by location, season, and visa category, you should apply for your visa well in advance of your planned travel dates. You may also have to pay the non-refundable business visa for USA application fee and if your visa is approved and it’s applicable to your nationality, you’ll need to pay a visa issuance fee.
For your B1 Business Visa USA interview, you’ll need to have the following:
- Your passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your period of stay (unless exempt by country-specific agreements).
- The printed DS-160 confirmation page.
- Receipt for payment of the application fee (if applicable).
- Additional documentation as requested.
