The United States is the world’s leading student destination welcomes foreign citizens to apply for Student Visa USA. Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to study in the United States must have a student visa.

Firstly, all student visa applicants are required to be applied, accepted, and approved by their US school or University should be certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Once accepted, you will receive a Form I-20 from the institution’s international student office, and students can apply within 120 days from the start date of I-20 and can travel within 30 days from the start date of I-20.

Types of Student Visa USA :

  • F-1 Student Visa is for University, college, private secondary school, or another academic the institution, including a language training program.
  • J- 1Exchange Visa is for exchanging programs, including high school and university.
  • M-1 Student Visa is for non-academic or vocational study or training in the US.

Documents Required:

  • A valid passport.

  • Your photograph.
  • Application as a non-immigrant.
  • Additional document will be informed by your University.

How to apply for U.S. Student Visa?

  • Firstly, apply and approved to a SEVP-approved school in the United States.
  • Then must pay the SEVIS fee at least three days prior to submitting an application for a US visa.
  • Complete the online visa application, DS-160, and then print the confirmation page to schedule your interview. And upload a photo.
  • Pay your visa fees.
  • Then, schedule an interview with two appointments, one for the Visa Application Center (VAC) and one for the visa interview at the Embassy or Consulate.
  • A valid Visa will be issued for study.
  • For new students, Visa can be issued up to 120 days in advance of their start date for a course study.
  • For continuing students can be issued at any time or students can enter the United States at any time before classes start.

Appointment wait time:

The appointment wait times for interviews vary by the location, season, visa category, and can change weekly. Also, it is based on the actual incoming workload and staffing.

  • Note: If your age is 13 and younger or you are 80 and older, then the interview is generally not required.
  • For 14-79 age then the interview is required for some exceptions for renewal.
